1. Customs clearance is carried out under the care of the competent service of each branch of the ED, after timely presentation by the contractor or his representative or by sending, through the competent Bank or the services of the EDs located abroad, the relevant for each case supporting documents.
2. The above supporting documents are sent to the competent Customs under the care of the ED service which carries out the receipt, and which at the same time requests the granting of suspension of duties, in accordance with the EU Council Regulation. no. 150/2003 (Official E.K./L 25/30.1.2003) and the customs clearance of the items. After customs clearance, the items are sent to the competent receiving committee of the ED for control and drawing up of quality and quantity receipt protocols.
3. In case the above loading documents are not received in time, the customs clearance is carried out based on what applies in the Greek Legislation for each specific case.
4. The quantities of raw materials and semi-finished products that are to be imported with suspension of duties and taxes, in order to be used for the manufacture of military equipment in Greece, are determined by the competent service of the GDAEE by taking into account the status of raw materials, on the basis of which the Directorate of Customs Attica issues the permits to be subject to the suspension regimes (Processing under Customs Control or Active Refinement), and the Import Customs subject the imported raw materials to the said regimes based on the above permits.
